Bonding Time

Last week Henry got his turn and today he got another chance and Paul also got a turn to feel their brother/sister kick.  The look of complete happiness was so sweet to see on their faces!  Bonding time already...such bliss!  Last night Dave felt him/her move too.  Whenever Jon puts his feet on my belly at nap time the baby kicks him...I'm still trying to decide if it is them bonding or are they fighting for momma snuggle time already?!?  Ha ha!  I'm so excited to finally get to share in the joy of this pregnancy with them so much more!

Food not lawns phase 3 - Final Phase

We are having another beautiful outside work day today!  Its been so nice, when its sunny but it's cool enough that your not sweating to death when you're working.  I was going to have a load of bark chips delivered but decided I probably wouldn't need that much (Wrong!) but the unloading from the back of the truck made things a whole lot easier, so I preferred to just go get a yard at a time in the back of our truck.  I ended up getting 5 yds and probably could have used another 1/2 or so, but I skimped in some areas I knew wouldn't be getting much traffic.  It looks so nice!!  I'm so excited to get warm weather here and get things planted!  I'm going to move a couple things that are in the back garden area up front tomorrow and then planting the first planting of peas and carrots too!  Can't wait to see how beautiful it looks this summer!

Ahhhh...

So it's been busy around here lately.  After the day of filling the garden boxes it's been raining pretty much every day...until today!  I was able to add another 2 wheel barrow loads into each box and 2 into the boxes we'd had up front from last year and then about 8-10 loads into the backyard garden area.  I finally have my driveway back and clean...only to be getting our bark chips (hopefully) delivered this week and we can finish up this new endeavor!  It's really coming along and looking really great!  I'm going to be getting the peas and carrots started soon, I want to plant about every 2 weeks or so.
Then I've also been decluttering and getting rid of tons of crap we didn't need or use.  Things that were broken or lost pieces, or things we haven't used in 6 months went.  We took a load to the Goodwill today and man does it ever feel so nice to have so much less stuff!  And I know I can do more, I really don't know how we seem to constantly bring more and more stuff in here!  The boys each had their own dresser, Henry used 2 out of the 4 drawers and Jon used 4 out of 6 drawers, so I condensed their two into one and was going to use Henry's small dresser for the new baby, but I only use 6 out of the 9 drawers in my dresser so we'll share.  It's been funny because Henry has been going into Jon's drawers and wearing his pants, it doesn't phase him that they only go to just below the knees, but some how the waist fits...  Paul's dresser was falling apart, so it's going away and he took Henry's small one.  It feels so nice to not have broken things around here anymore.  I'm all about quality over quantity and really want to do it for everything, not just clothing or food like I've done in the past.  Why have a bunch of items in your house that you can't use fully because its broken or just cheap quality?  I see no point in that...
I'm also hoping to get some house projects finished up before I get too big of a belly.  Currently the boys bathroom is SpongeBob'd themed which is cute, but some little fingers have been pulling the wall paper boarder off slowly, so its gotten really ugly.  I have a cute spring green and white gingham shower curtain that is going to look really nice once I've done some painting and updating in there.  Then my laundry room was 1/2 way painted and that's as far as I'd ever done, it really hasn't been a big deal because its getting painted the same color, but you can notice a bit of difference.  I just want to get it finished with in the next month, so once the kids are out of school we can enjoy the last month or so together as a family of 5 before our sweet baby joins us!  Then we'll also be able to really enjoy our baby moon and not have to worry about projects needing to be finished!
